ES'>En muchos pa&iacute;ses del llamado primer mundo, los agricultores ya n=
o se
dedican exclusivamente a producir alimentos, sino que est&aacute;n convirti=

sus granjas en generadores de energ&iacute;a renovable, instalando grandes
generadores e&oacute;licos y cultivando oleaginosas para la producci&oacute=
;n
de <span class=3DSpellE>biodi&eacute;sel</span>. Debido al fuerte increment=
o de
precio que han sufrido las energ&iacute;as convencionales en los &uacute;lt=
imos
tiempos, especialmente el petr&oacute;leo y el gas natural, es un negocio c=
ada
vez m&aacute;s interesante. Adem&aacute;s, dichos pa&iacute;ses se
comprometieron mediante el &quot;Protocolo de Kyoto&quot;, que entr&oacute;=
 en
vigencia el a&ntilde;o pasado, a reducir a mediano plazo sus emisiones de g=
ases
a efecto invernadero causando cambios clim&aacute;ticos a nivel mundial. <b=
r>
Esta meta la podr&aacute;n lograr por un lado, a trav&eacute;s de la
sustituci&oacute;n de petr&oacute;leo por energ&iacute;as renovables; pero
tambi&eacute;n, comprando certificados de reducci&oacute;n de emisiones de
gases a efecto invernadero de pa&iacute;ses en desarrollo en el marco del
llamado &quot;Mecanismo de Desarrollo Limpio&quot; (MDL) establecido en el
Protocolo de Kyoto. <br>
Paraguay es un importante productor de energ&iacute;a el&eacute;ctrica medi=
ante
sus 2 grandes centrales hidroel&eacute;ctricas de <span class=3DSpellE>Itai=
p&uacute;</span>
y <span class=3DSpellE>Yacyret&aacute;</span>. Desgraciadamente, nuestro
pa&iacute;s est&aacute; privado de gran parte de los beneficios
econ&oacute;micos que le corresponder&iacute;an debido a los tratados injus=
tos
que ha firmado hace m&aacute;s de 30 a&ntilde;os, con sus pa&iacute;ses vec=
inos
Brasil y Argentina y que el actual Gobierno nacional aparentemente no tiene
mucho inter&eacute;s en renegociar. <br>
Sin embargo, el futuro energ&eacute;tico ya no depender&aacute; de las gran=
des
instalaciones centralizadas, sino m&aacute;s bien en una gran cantidad de
peque&ntilde;os productores de energ&iacute;a distribuidos por todo el
territorio. Existen en ese sentido importantes posibilidades para el
campesinado paraguayo, principalmente en cuanto a producci&oacute;n de biom=
asa
con fines energ&eacute;ticos, como por ejemplo: <o:p></o:p></span></p>

En la Secretar&iacute;a del Ambiente SEAM funciona la oficina encargada de =
la
implementaci&oacute;n del MDL en Paraguay, que recibe las solicitudes para =
la
obtenci&oacute;n de CRE, los que son negociables internacionalmente a un pr=
ecio
con tendencia alcista.<br>
