a community building integrated solar cooker project is being developed that has
a stationary cpc reflector trough, with tracking frame end wall reflectors on
fabric/film, and earthen vault architecture; for equatorial tropical sites (0-20
degrees latitude) without seismic problems. the solar cooker rectangular 'box'
at the outlet of the cpc can be approximately 1m/4ft x 20m/60ft; and the earthen
vaults can have rise-spans up to 15m/50ft. there are expressions of interest to
participate from: satprem maine, architect and executive of earth unit (unesco
earthen architecture) at auroville building centre, india; and dr. roland
winston, of the university of california-merced. preliminary sketch studies are
attached. funding is being sought for feasibility design studies. |
